Perfect Bacon

Whether your serving your family, guests on a yacht in the Caribbean or it’s just for you, perfect bacon is attainable.
I remember having a deep discussion with one of our guests on S/Y Knot Anchored about how you actually achieve perfect bacon.
We both agreed that low and slow is the way to go.
BUT then I found this method somewhere on the internet and since I can honestly say I have perfected it I am ready to FTB (flip the beetle) and share it with you.

I contemplated at great length as to when and what would officially be my first post here.
I decided on water and that it would be live on January 1st.

I also recently discovered that I don’t like anyone telling me what to do, so today we’re going to look at how you can achieve perfect bacon not water lol.

stuff you need to do this

large (preferably heavy duty) baking pan
parchment paper
paper towel

ingredients

thick cut bacon

this is how we do it

PREHEAT oven to 400 degrees.
COVER baking pan with parchment paper.

ADD bacon to pan – no overlapping.
PLACE in oven for 15 minutes and then start checking it until it gets slightly crisp.

REMOVE and transfer that sexy bacon to a paper
towel to drain.

That’s the whole deal.
Since every oven is different you need to monitor the times.
My oven gives me perfection at 16 minutes.

In the event that you don’t have a salad or a potato or a mouth to put this bacon into you can freeze them!
Wrap in paper towel and place in a sealed container and extract as you please over time.

Treat yourself, get the bacon from your local butcher shop (support your local businesses).
Because:
a. you’re worth it
b. happy pasture fed pigs are the only way to go & you’ll be supporting the farmers not the massive, overcrowded pro hormone and antibiotic feed lots that suck.
